History of the U/17's

Many of the current U/16 squad started at Saracens, way back in season 2001 - 2002 when they started as U/7's. A group of boys who looked too small to play the game of rugby. A few of the dad's took on the responsibility of coaching the boys. Peter Calder took on the responsibility of head coach, assisted by Andy Kyprianou.

With every new season, new boys join the Saracens family, and unfortunately also a few friends move on. Gradually the squad has developed into the current U/16 squad, all keen to carry on the Saracens traditions.

This page is a reminder of times past and just shows how the boys have developed into the skilful players they are today, with the dedicated help of the small group of coaches for which all the parents are grateful that they have passed on their rugby knowledge and skills to our boys.

This small group of coaches are Peter Calder, Ian Avent, Andy Sharp, Bob Collis, Dennis O'Gorman and Lawson Davies.

This page also celebrates the friends made along the way and is a reminder of those who have been part of the Saracens family but for various reasons have moved on.
